History
Pink Ribbon Gumballs were developed by Matt Gilliam in the spring of 2007. During Matt’s last semester at the University of Oklahoma and before starting his career in the oil field servicing business Matt came up with the Bubble Up Pink Ribbon Gum Ball concept. Matt’s father Lloyd took over the initiative and contacted Northwestern Corporation vending company and together they developed the Pink ribbon Gum Ball machine to compliment the Pink Ribbon Gum Ball. Together Matt and Lloyd bought and located 50 Bubble Up Pink Ribbon Gumball machines in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area and are giving all profits to the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund®.
Contact was made with the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund in the spring of 2009. Our company received positive feedback in regards to the Pink Ribbon Gumball product and machine. While the WBCA Pink Zone™ initiative is extremely successful in raising funds for the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund in the month of February, the Pink Ribbon Gumball machine provides schools with a year-round fundraising opportunity to support cancer research. Pink Ribbon Gumballs was very much interested in associating with the Fund to help the women’s basketball community eradicate this deadly disease. We think it will be a wonderful relationship filled with fun and exciting rewards for our coupled efforts in supporting the vision of the legendary, late Coach Kay Yow.
